manuscript takes its name from Wilfrid Michael Voynich, a Polish revolutionary and antiquarian who purchased the tome in 1912. Since than the script has moved from place to place.
But throughout its journey across Europe and the Atlantic Ocean, the question remained: just what was encoded inside Voynich? Several theories exist. The most dominant is that the manuscript is written in a European language scrambled by a cipher. Another hypothesis, known as the “code-book” theory, states that the letters are actually codes that can be looked up in a corresponding glossary. Easter Island statues, called Moai, have been on the Chilean Polynesian island(Easter Island) since 1250 C.E. The stone blocks, carved into head-and-torso figures, average 13 feet (4 meters) tall and 14 tons. They were created by Rapa Nui people, It must certainly been a lot of work to construct and moves these statues around the Island.
But no one knows exactly why the Rapa Nui people undertook such a task. Most scholars suspect that the moai were created to honor ancestors, chiefs, or other important personages, However, no written and little oral history exists on the island, so it’s impossible to be certain and of that still remains a mystery. There are about 887 Moais all around the Island. Meanwhile, across the entire island, many moai are reversing the creation process and deteriorating rapidly from priceless carvings back into plain rock. The volcanic stone is subject to weathering, and intensive conservation efforts are needed to help preserve Rapa Nui’s stone sculptures in its present inspiring state.
#5 Atlantis The Great Lost City
Atlantis is a legendary "lost" island subcontinent often idealized as an advanced, utopian society holding wisdom that could bring world peace. The idea of Atlantis has captivated dreamers, occultists and New Agers for generations. Unlike many Muteries whose origins have been lost in time, we know exactly when and where the story of Atlantis first appeared. The story was first told in two of Plato's works, the "Timaeus" and the "Critias," written about 300 B.C. As Myth, the Atlantis legend is more about the heroic Athens than a sunken civilization, if Atlantis really existed today and was found, its residents would probably try to kill and enslave us all. It's clear that Plato made up Atlantis as a plot device for his stories because there are no other records of it anywhere else in the world.
Despite Atlantis clear origin in fiction, many people over the centuries have claimed that there must be some truth behind the myths, and have speculated about where Atlantis would be found. Countless so called "Atlantis experts" have located the lost continent all around the world, based on the same set of facts from Alto's works. Candidate locations include the Atlantic Ocean, Antarctica, Bolivia, Turkey, India,Germany, Malta and the Caribbean. Whether a Myth or reality, facts still remain that if there was such a big civilization how did it Mysteriously disappear.
#4 The Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a strangely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Given the popularity of the triangle is mainly due to a simple fact that no where else on the planet have so many number of ships and planes have mysteriously disappeared without any trace or clue, and neither have been relocated or heard from ever since, But according to The U.S military and Govt Officials this place does not exist and that the legend of the Bermuda Triangle is a manufactured mystery, made up by writers who either purposely or unknowingly made use of misconceptions, faulty reasoning, and sensationalism. In one such incident involving the 1972 explosion and sinking of the tanker SS V. A. Fogg, the Coast Guard photographed the wreck and recovered several bodies, in contrast with one Triangle author's claim that all the bodies had vanished, with the exception of the captain, who was found sitting in his cabin at his desk, clutching a coffee cup. In addition, V. A. Fogg sank off the coast of Texas, nowhere near the commonly accepted boundaries of the Triangle. but all aside Stories or facts, the mysteries of The Bermuda Triangle have always interested all of us, and there is no bigger name associated to vanishing ships and lost crew than that of The Bermuda Triangle
The Wow! signal was a strong radio signal detected by Jerry R. Ehman on August 15, 1977, while he was working on a SETI project at the Big Ear radio telescope of The Ohio State University, The signal bore the expected hallmarks of non-terrestrial and non-Solar System origin. The signal appears to have come from the northwest of the globular cluster of M55 in the constellation Sagittarius, near the Chi Sagittarii star group.
The entire signal sequence lasted for the full 72-second window that Big Ear was able to observe it, but has not been detected again. The signal has been the subject of significant media attention, and astronomers have tried many times in vain to find the signal again. Impressed by the relative resemblance of the expected signature of an interstellar signal in the antenna used, Ehman circled the signal on the computer printout and wrote the comment "Wow!" on its side, which became the name of the signal itself. In 2012, on the 35th anniversary of the Wow! signal, Arecibo Observatory beamed a response from humanity, containing 10,000 Twitter messages, in the direction from which the signal originated. Who? or whether someone or some thing even received these messages is yet a mystery. But as it's been going on for ages to find out if intelligent life exist anywhere else other than earth, well we might expect to get a tweet back from them(aliens) sometime soon.
#2 The Green Children Of Woolpit
The legend of the green children of Woolpit concerns two children of unusual skin colour who reportedly appeared in the village of Woolpit in Suffolk, England, some time in the 12th century, perhaps during the reign of King Stephen. The children, brother and sister, were of generally normal appearance except for the green colour of their skin. They spoke in an unknown language, and the only food they would eat was beans. Eventually they learned to eat other food and lost their green pallor, but the boy was sickly and died soon after he and his sister were baptised. The girl adjusted to her new life, After she learned to speak English, the girl explained that she and her brother had come from St Martin's Land, an underground world inhabited by green people. this has been mentioned by William of Newburgh who was a noted 12th century histoian. although there is not much of an evidence to this case, people still believe that the children existed and that there is a secret world that is still hidden from us.
#1 Stonehenge
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England. Archaeologists believe it was constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. The surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC. Radiocarbon dating in 2008 suggested that the first blue stones were raised between 2400 and 2200 BC. Evidence found by the Stonehenge Riverside Project in 2008 indicates that Stonehenge could have been a burial ground from its earliest beginnings, The dating of cremated remains indicate that deposits contain human bone from as early as 3000 BC, when the ditch and bank were first dug. Such deposits continued at Stonehenge for at least another 500 years.
Stonehenge is surely Britain's greatest national icon, symbolizing mystery, power and endurance. Its original purpose is unclear to us, but some have speculated that it was a temple made for the worship of ancient earth deities. It has been called an astronomical observatory for marking significant events on the prehistoric calendar. Others claim that it was a sacred site for the burial of high-ranking citizens from the societies of long ago. Stonehenge was produced by a culture that left no written records. Situated in a vast plain, surrounded by hundreds of round barrows, or burial mounds, the Stonehenge site is truly impressive, It is a place where much human effort was expended for a purpose we can only guess, Some people see it as a place steeped in magic and mystery, some as a place where their imaginations of the past can be fired and others hold it to be a sacred place. Such aspects and more of Stonehenge remain as subject to debate. A number of myths surround the stones thus make it one of the most mysterious places in existence.
